Website > e-Newsletters
E-Newsletters, bulk emailing, email marketing - whatever the term for it, the aim is always similar - it's a great way to be able to communicate with current clients/customers and hopefully future ones about what you have to offer.
We have recently released a web-based email marketing system, named "Mailout", which allows for the sending of bulk emails to your list of contacts.
First question we often get asked - "Why use this rather than just using Outlook/Thunderbird/Mail?"
Fair question. This is a paid service (see down lower for pricing), but you get so much more using Mailout than you do via your email client. The system has a huge number of features which we'll cover a bit lower down, but to save you time, it's mainly about:
- nicely designed HTML emails which really show off your branding + what you have to say
- complies with Australia's SPAM Act
- ability for people to subscribe via your website / unsubscribe via the email
- see graphs of how many people opened it, deleted it, which links were clicked, unsubscribed from it
- comparison over time of which newsletters received most attention, what ones didn't work so well
- different groups for different e-newsletters
- recipients can invite friends/family/colleagues to sign-up
- people can sign-up directly from your website

Why a newsletter?
If you're not doing email newsletters already, or not sure what you could put in them, some suggestions are:
- new products/services on offer
- specials
- industry news / trends
- what's happening at your company etc.
Perhaps you're currently utilising physical mail-outs via printed catalogues - if so, this can either compliment or replace that altogether. A mail-out might be done every month, quarter or even longer - but what about all that in-between time? The cost of designing, proofing, printing & sending adds up very quickly. Check out the pricing comparison between and e-newsletter and a typical paper-based one to see the pricing benefit, let alone the environmental impact.
Also below are some template ideas on how you could present your e-newsletter. These are simply ideas, we can either use one or design a totally unique one for you as well.
Pricing
Ok, you're sold on the idea. How much I hear you ask...
- set-up fee: $200 (assuming you're keen to use a template like the ones below - contact us for a price for a unique design, but typically around $500-700)
- per newsletter: $10
- per recipient: 3c
Example: Acme Pty Ltd have 300 people on their monthly mailing list. The cost to send this out is $10 + 300 x 3c = $19.
Comparison: Currently Acme Pty Ltd send out their newsletter via snail-mail. The cost to do this is $417 for printing, $45 for set-up, $41 to get it freighted to them, and then another 55c per stamp + 5c per envelope. All up - $501 + $180 = $681!
Using those numbers, Acme could send out 35 e-Newsletters for the same price as via more traditional means. That's a lot of communication you can do!
Where to now?
Once you've made the decision, let us know and we'll get started! The process is then:
- we design the look of the template
- you log into our system (Mailout) and write your content, put in your images and so-on
- choose who it's going to go to (ie a group, everyone etc)
- pay for it with your credit card
- send it off
- check your stats!
