Portfolio > case studies > Arma Australia - SEO + redevelopment
Arma Australia are the country's leading window tinting specialist for car window tinting, for the home and for commercial buildings.
Arma came to us with an existing site, however they weren't getting enough out of the site as they had hoped they would. The main problems with the existing site were:
- the site was built 100% in Flash. This meant that the search engine optimisation (SEO) was quite low resulting in less-than-expected search engine traffic
- there was no way for Arma to update the site themselves, so the content became stale
Iugo approached the problems in a staged process.
Stage 1 - Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
First we developed a Flash-alternative site which was much friendlier to search engines, applied a lot of SEO techniques to the site and measured the response.
Within 3 months, we saw:
- 2x the pages being indexed by search engines
- an increase of approximately 300% in search engine rankings across the search keywords
- a sizeable increase in traffic (approximately 200%)
With each month, we saw more and more improvement until it leveled off. It was at this stage that Iugo suggested that we redevelop the site as we'd taken the site as far as we could. There were still some fundamental issues with the site which couldn't be overcome with the Flash underpinnings.
Stage 2 - Redevelopment of the website
The second phase of the site involved redeveloping the site and going with less animation and focus more on the user's experience. We put in place:
- an updated and fresh design
- W3C compliant code throughout (XHTML and CSS)
- a simple navigation structure
And perhaps most importantly, an easy-to-use content management system (CMS), namely Recite. This allows Arma representatives to update the site from anywhere which leads to more relevant content, ability to post specials, update customers on new products and so-on.
Literally within 3 days of going live with the new site, Arma have experienced huge growth in product enquiries as well as website traffic.
Stage 3 - Ongoing reviews
The internet world doesn't stand still and nor do search engines' algorithms nor competitors' websites. We will continue to monitor and provide advice to Arma on how their site is going and how they can make changes to continue with their ongoing project.
We'll continue to update this page with more stats over the next few months.
(Arma have very kindly let us publish this information and we thank them for that)
