Position: Mid-range PHP/web developer
Job ad: Who are we? We're a web application development company. We devise, architect, build and deliver web-related projects. This usually comes in the form of public sites/applications, intranets, extranets, business applications, B2B, Facebook and various other means. We do this via PHP, various database types (PostgreSQL & MySQL mainly), web services, XHTML/CSS/JavaScript and whatever other technology we can lay our hands on.
Who are you? Well, we want you to be good at what you do. Not just be good, but have a passion for it. We're ensuring each and every developer becomes Zend PHP5 Certified. Ideally you'll have a few years experience and want to get better at what you do. We've got our fill of highly experienced developers, we need some doers - someone keen to get in there and get the job done and want a career path for web development. Our team is given dedicated time per week to develop their skills via training, workshops, interest-related projects and various other means. We want, no, we need our staff to continually improve.
It's a pretty simple role really - we'll give you a project, you'll need to use your analytical skills to work out what to do and how you're going to go about it. You might work alone on your own project, you might be in a team. You'll report to the project manager so you'll need to have good communication & time management skills. In time, you'll likely lead a project and might have a few others you'll need to coordinate. One day, you might be the one in charge of delivering our next big project for one of our very large clients. And yes, we do have some very large clients.
